Helmut Marko the Red Bull F1 Teams Chief advisor has told the FIA to take Max Verstappen’s F1 Exit comment very seriously. Max Verstappen had a phone call with Helmut Marko and they spoke regarding Max Verstappen's exit from the F1 racing. Verstappen was punished with community service for swearing during a press conference during Singapore GP. After that Max Verstappen threatened to Quit F1 as he finds FIA rules silly. He also answered very quietly and he even held his press meet outside the FIA press room.
He was asked about his future in Formula 1 and responded by saying, “Yeah. I mean these kinds of things decide my future as well when you can't be yourself or you have to deal with these kinds of silly things. I think now, I am at the stage of my career that I don't want to be dealing with this all the time. It's tiring, you know?. He also said after achieving great success and winning a world championship you need to have a good time and dealing with silly things is not the way to continue in the sport."
Red Bull Boss slams FIA for double standards
Helmut Marko has now stepped in and sided with his driver Max Verstappen. He warned about Max Verstappen and his comments about quitting Formula 1. He said, “Max has to be taken seriously. We spoke at length on the phone. Max has achieved a great deal, but its important for him to have fun and enjoy the whole sport. If that is increasingly spoilt for him, then his character if … if says ‘Ok, that's it, then he means it. But I don't hope that the current situation will cause him to retire any time soon.”
Marko sees inconsistency in FIA handling max verstappen and others. Popular Netflix documentary Drive to Survive has shown many F*** moments and swearing in races. He says, “There are double standards. What's more, he wasn't talking about a person, he was talking about the car, in other words an object, and in a flippant way. Its really exaggerated. Apart from Helmut Marko many F1 Drivers like former world champion Lewis Hamilton, Valtteri Bottas, and Current McLaren driver Lando Norris supported Max Verstappen."
