The FIA ruling body of Formula 1 has now slammed 8-time WRC champion Sebastien Ogier for swearing against FIA. The FIA had fined him 30,000 Euros. In gravel-based rally events, the hanging dust on the road is a big problem for the WRC drivers. Sebastien Ogier spoke about this issue as he has visibility problems due to the dust hanging in front of the road. He complained about the short intervals between cars in Greece.

He said, “It's annoying to see that the sport never learns. We ask. We know that we are going to have dust. There is hanging dust. They say no. What do you have in your head? Nothing. It's crazy.” These comments triggered the FIA to take action against Sebastien for breaking Article 12.2.1.f of the FIA International Sporting Code. It states “any words, deeds or writings that have caused moral injury or loss to the FIA, its bodies, Its members or its executive officers, and more generally on the interest of the motorsport and the values defended by the FIA.”

Protest against FIA

FIA took immediate action against Sebastien by slamming him with a 30,000 Euro fine. The driver took a stance the same as Max Verstappen and did not talk much in press. Ogier always gave minimum answers to the media without talking much about the FIA Punishement. He accused FIA of forcing drivers to Shut their mouths.

He said, “You realize that I didn't want to talk today, We’ve been told that we shouldnt at the moment. Its not personal against the media or the fans. Today I don't feel like I want to talk and I am sorry for all the people that deserve better than that. But we have been told by the top of the FIA to shut our mouths, so it is a bit sad.”

This was the same stance Max Verstappen took during the singapore GP. At the start of the weekend, he said that his 'car was F***ked'. Swearing during press conferences is against the FIA and they sanctioned Max to undergo community service as punishment.

Max Verstappen responded to the punishment as he received by talking less and answering one-liners during the FIA press conference. He also conducted press meet outside the room during Qualifying. Many F1 drivers like Lando Norris, Lewis Hamilton, and Valtteri Bottas supported Max Verstappens stance against FIA punishment.
