The Aston Martin F1 team had one of the most cruel Brazilian Grand Prix races ever as both of their drivers suffered huge bounce issues during the main race. The bounce was very extreme as the two-time world champion Fernando Alonso couldn't even walk after the race. The Interlagos circuit known for its bouncy nature made it even worse for the team to drive the car.

The Silverstone-based team had a very challenging weekend in Brazil. At first, Lance Stroll went wide off the track during the formation lap due to a rear lock and when trying to come back he ended up in the gravel and was lifted back to the track. During the qualifying session, both Alonso and Stroll crashed their cars. They damaged the car which had a Suzuka circuit specific floor which the Aston Martin team tried to run during the Interlagos circuit. There was no spare available after the crash.

The main reason behind the issue

The team went for the Hungarian GP-specific floor and fitted with the car. It is a breach of Parc ferme regulations but the Aston Martin cars suffered a crash and so it was allowed by the FIA. But they were not allowed to change the setup of the car. This complicated the matter as the suspension setup is set for the Suzuka kind of circuit and the Floor set up for the Hungarian circuit. This mismatched the car's nature and caused those uneven bounces. The tricky weather conditions made things even worse as the Aero platform and Mechanical settings didn't match.

For the past few races Aston Martin has been experimenting with many floors and nothing seems to pay off. In the next races, Aston Martin may go for the Budapest version of the floor which suits the tracks. The James Bond team will hope that their every issue regarding design will be solved after Adrian Newy's arrival next year. The team will also be in partnership with Honda for the 2026 season. Adrian Newey promised to change Aston Martin into a championship-contending team.
