Alonso Crash (1)

Aston Martin team is having a nightmare qualifying in Brazil Interlagos circuit as both of their cars crashed within 1 hour of qualifying. In the second qualifying Aston Martin rider Lance Stroll crashed and ended Max Verstappen’s Q1 chances. In the last and final qualifying session, Fernando Alonso the most experienced driver in the Formula 1 grid crashed his car straight into the walls. The Aston Martin cars were great in setting the lap times under wet conditions compared with many teams.

Alonso Crash in Q3

But the water log in the circuit is very high as even an experienced driver like Fernando Alonso couldn’t control his car. Teams are working very hard to set lap times on the rainy race track. The tyres do not have enough temperature to shine and they do not give enough grip for the drivers.

This is the only race this year where many drivers crashed back-to-back within minutes. The qualifying session opened with Williams driver Franco Colapinto crashing first. Again in Q2 ferrari driver Carlos Sainz crashed into the barriers when entering turn 2. Then Lance Stroll crashed his car after exiting turn 2 the same spot where Carlos Sainz crashed. Even Pole leader Lando Norris would have crashed in the exact spot when trying to exit the corner at turn 2. Now Alonso joined the list of drivers crashing in the Interlagos circuit.

Many drivers are still struggling on the track to keep their cars within the white line. The circuit gives no grip to the riders and the drivers with almost great skills along with a good car stay on the track and set lap times. The Brazil Grand Prix has now become the toughest race for the teams and the drivers this year. Multiple world champions like Lewis Hamilton and Max verstappen are already out of the qualifying which shows how hard it is to race in Sao Paulo under rainy conditions. Already, five red flags were given in the circuit during qualifying which is the highest this year.
