Cristiano Ronaldo from Football and Sami Zayn from WWE have a story which is on the same lines as each other. The two-star players have won everything to be won in their sports except the ultimate glory. The world title is the only prize that's yet to be won by the duo. In their illustrious career, that's the only prize that hasn't come close to their grabs.

Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the best players in the history of Football. He has redefined longevity and fitness in the sport. The Portugal star can win matches on his own and score goals for fun. However, to win a World Cup, a complete team effort is essential. Portugal never had a team that was capable of winning a FIFA World Cup, not during Cristiano's period. 

In various leagues, Ronaldo has made a name for himself. He has won the La Liga a multiple number of times. He won the Premier League. The star player won the Champions League as well. Even for his country, Ronaldo won the Euros in 2016. The FIFA World Cup still remains out of his grab. The closest he came to winning it was in 2022. Portugal made it to the quarterfinals but could not proceed further.

So close yet so far for Sami Zayn

The story of Sami Zayn is not much different. He was a great champion at NXT and got drafted to the main roster. He has been a United States Champion as a solo wrestler. Currently, he is the Intercontinental Champion and won the title after ending the insane run of Gunther as the champion for 666 days. Even in the doubles category, he was good.

He held the tag team championship on numerous occasions. As a character, he is brilliant. On the mic, Sami is good. Even as an in-ring wrestler, Zayn is good. The world championship has been difficult to be won by him. The closest he got to the dream spot was at Elimination Chamber 2023. In his own backyard in Montreal, Sami challenged Roman Reigns for the world title. Despite giving a sensational performance, Sami couldn't get the job done.
