In a recent interview, Bret Hart opened up on what transpired soon after the Montreal Screw Job 1997. The former world champion recalled what he did with Vince McMahon. The former WWE Superstar said he went up to Vince's room and locked up like a Wrestling match. The Hitman said he knocked Vince out with a punch and claimed it to be the greatest punch he ever threw in his life.

"We actually walked up to each other and locked up like a wrestling match. And then I knocked him out with one punch and it was the greatest punch I ever threw," said Bret Hart in the interview. At the Survivor Series 1997, Hart was booked to win. However, Vince had to keep the decision of screwing him a secret. Shawn Micheals won the match as the referee helped him with his decision.

After the match, Hart could not believe that he lost it. The fans booed the referee for his wrong counting. In the years to come, everyone knew why he was screwed over in his backyard. Hart, who was set to move to WCW, disagreed to vacate the belt and refused to lose it to Michaels. Hence, Vince decides to perform the deceit through which Hitman loses.

'It was the sweetest punch I ever threw' - Bret Hart

In the interview, Hart added that he was so angry with Vince that he punched the then-WWE boss. Hart said it was a beautifully executed upper cut and added that he lifted Vince a foot above the ground. While Bret claimed to have broken his hand in the process, he claimed it to be the sweetest punch he ever threw. He did not give a damn about what Vince McMahon had to think.

"Absolutely beautiful uppercut and I lifted him about a foot off the ground, broke my hand, but it was the sweetest punch I ever threw, and I wouldn’t change anything about it. And Vince McMahon can rot in hell," added Bret in the interview. He also claimed that apart from Vince, he wanted to punch Shawn and Triple H as well.
