The cast for Legendary's Street Fighter remake is starting to come together. The planned film, which is based on the Capcom video games of the same name, is now officially in negotiations with four actors. According to reports that Noah Centineo (Black Adam), Roman Reigns (Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw), Jason Momoa (A Minecraft Movie), and Andrew Koji (Bullet Train) are in negotiations to appear in Street Fighter.

Although no character details have been revealed, it was rumored back in April that Koji and Centineo were the front-runners for the roles of Ryu, the franchise's title character and the martial artist who has devoted his life to perfecting the art of Ansatsuken by traveling the world in search of deserving opponents, and Ken Masters, Ryu's gregarious best friend and brotherly rival who trained alongside Ryu under the same master, Gouken.

The most well-known role Momoa has is that of Aquaman in the DC Extended Universe, where he starred in the superhero's two stand-alone movies in 2018 and 2023. Conan the Barbarian from the 2011 remake, Duncan Idaho from Denis Villeneuve's Dune, the evil Dante Reyes from Fast X, and, most recently, Garrett "The Garbage Man" Garrison from A Minecraft Movie are some of his other noteworthy film roles. Following its theatrical debut earlier this year, the latter became a huge box office success, making over $930 million globally.

Having held the world title for the fourth-longest period in WWE history, Roman Reigns is considered one of the world's top professional wrestlers. He has a small number of movie credits, but like Momoa, he is a part of the Fast & Furious world. He played Luke Hobbs' brother Mateo in the 2019 spinoff Hobbs & Shaw. He will co-star with Eddie Murphy and Pete Davidson in the Amazon MGM Studios crime movie The Pickup before Street Fighter.

Kitao Sakurai started to work on movie again

The 1994 original, 2009's Legend of Chun-Li, and 2014's Assassin's Fist are the only three live-action films in the series that share continuity, thus, Legendary's Street Fighter remake will be the fourth in the series. The Legendary revival, which has been in production since 2023, was first slated to be directed by Danny and Michael Philippou. However, due to schedule issues. The filmmaking team left the project in June 2024. Earlier this year, Kitao Sakurai was chosen as the director of the movie, and the relaunch started to pick up pace again. There are some development updates on the movie.
