Sony has finally dropped the official reveal for PS5 Pro, containing some sweet upgrades compared to the regular PS5. However, with great specification comes great price, as the PS5 Pro is revealed to be starting at $699 for the digital edition. People planning to purchase the disc add on will have to cough up $80 more.

During the technical presentation, Sony informed fans about the upgrades they made which includes GPU which now comes with 67% more Compute Units. A sound upgrade over PS5, the company also shared a comparison in details across multiple games.

Another upgrade was to the memory, which is now 28% faster. Combine with the GPU, the PS5 Pro can render things up to 45% faster, allowing games to target much smoother frame rates. Withy Ray Tracing in trend, Sony have also focus on this aspect, allowing more dynamic reflection and refraction of light.

However, Ray Tracing can be a huge bottleneck in any system and in order to combat that, Sony have crated PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) for PS5 Pro. This is similar to the DLSS or FSR that renders the game at low resolution while upscaling the image for better FPS. With these upgrades, the console combines fidelity and performance with an aim to bring players the best of each option.

PS5 Pro pricing leave fans in disbelief

The pricing for PS5 Pro has left many fans in a blunder. While the upgrades looks solid, there are not enough games to make it feasible. PS5 already have one of the smallest catalogue of games. The games showcased during the presentation already look good enough as per gamers.

By the looks of it, the console will likely be of the best choices to play GTA 6, but the game is still a long way off release. This has left people wondering if it's even worth getting PS5 Pro, with Sony revealing no new exclusives in the process.
