BGMI has come under a lot of scrutiny from the community in recent months. Despite hosting some of the biggest esports tournaments in the country, fans claim that the moderation is all over the place. Rampant cheaters going unpunished till later matches in an official BGMI event and previously banned individuals playing under new aliases is just the beginning.

“We have updated our Anti-Cheat systems to ensure fair gameplay and prevent players from using unfair means and ruining the experience of rest of the players. We would like to reiterate that there are no secondary reasons for legitimate players to worry about, and no other reason for account bans are being handed out,” Krafton India wrote.

This comes after the BMPS 2024 ordeal, after which many aforementioned allegations came forward. Krafton even went on to ban players from Ignite Gaming permanently from any future BGMI tournaments. Another issue many raised was sustainability.

Many popular esports organizations like Global Esports and 8Bit halted their esports operations for BGMI temporarily, calling the market unstable, and are planning to return when things settle down.

An update regarding leaks for BGMI

Along with the anti-cheat situation, the developers for BGMI once again focused on what players hear from external sources. “We would sincerely request you to not rely on second-hand sources of information and follow official sources for updates,” they added.

This isn’t the first time Krafton India has told people to follow the official sources for news, however, leaks will remain one of the most talked about aspects. Trusted leaks can hype up the upcoming updates, but sometimes, the rumours can also negatively affect the game. In those times, the developers themselves should come forward and debunk these rumours.
