Hogwarts Legacy developers are reportedly working on a new multiplayer RPG game

Following the success of Hogwarts Legacy, the studio behind the game ‘Avalanche Software’ is reportedly working on a new title. This time, it's an online multiplayer RPG game as per the recent job listings by the studio, and while it’s unclear if the game will once again take place in a fantasy world, an online game after many requests have sparked interest.

People already know that a sequel for Hogwarts Legacy is already confirmed as revealed by Warner Bros. However, it seems more games are in development and are something completely different. As per one of the job descriptions, the studio is looking for a Lead Designer of Game Systems.

“As a Lead Designer, Game Systems for our Online Multiplayer RPG, you will spearhead the design and implementation of numerous gameplay loop systems that tie together the player experience at a meta game level,” the description reads.

New game may be separate from Hogwarts Legacy sequel

There’s a lot more to the multiplayer aspect than co-op as the description talks about player progression, in-game economies, rewards, account systems, social systems, and game mechanics.

“You will collaborate closely with the Game and Design Directors to oversee and implement the strategic integration of player progression, in-game economies, rewards, account systems, social systems, and game mechanics, ensuring that these systems create an engaging, cohesive, and rewarding player journey,” it further adds.

Furthermore, players were reportedly invited to take part in an upcoming playtest for feedback as revealed by popular leaker X0X_LEAK on X (Twitter).

According to recent job postings, Avalanche Software (Hogwarts Legacy) is currently working on an Online Multiplayer RPG.

For an upcoming playtest, a new survey asks for feedback on whether players prefer menu-based or lobby-based (helldivers 2) lobbies.

Will Hogwarts Legacy 2 feature multiplayer aspects?

Despite looking like a game with multiplayer aspects, Hogwarts Legacy was a complete single-player title and fans wanted more on the co-op side. As per the leaks, the testing is to test out multiplayer game lobbies which do not seem to be related to Hogwarts Legacy. Although, there is always a chance that Hogwarts Legacy 2 will have co-op.
