Copyright update for Hollow Knight: Silksong leaves fans excited for an announcement

Hollow Knight: Silksong recently saw some activity across Steam that has fans believing that the game is set to be announced and released this year. First revealed back in 2019, it has been a long time since the game entered development with many wondering what happened. The latest activity reveals an update to the copyright from 2019 to 2025.

Spotted by Wario64 on X (Twitter), SteamDB has constantly updated Silksong’s page activity, over the last month, and things are moving quickly. While changes happen all the time, this was the first time the game’s copyright was updated which is raising the hopes for everyone. Alongside that, there are a few more changes like the addition of Nvidia Cloud Gaming.

Hollow Knight: Silksong trailer expected at Nintendo Direct

All these changes come right before the upcoming Nintendo Direct where fans will get a first look at the Nintendo Switch 2. Alongside the handheld games, the upcoming ones for the console are also expected to be revealed, and Hollow Knight: Silksong is presumed to be one of the games.

The Nintendo Direct will be taking place on April 2nd meaning the Silksong reveal is potentially just a week away. It makes sense to reveal the game alongside one of the most anticipated gaming hardware and while the hype for the game is already at its peak, more publicity never hurts.

Potential Game of The Year 2025?

The original Hollow Knight was very popular, but did not win the Game of The Year award, mostly due to a massive number of successful titles released back in 2017. It was a good year with games like Breath of the Wild, Cuphead, Nier: Automata, Hellblade Wolfenstein 2, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, and a lot of other incredible games released.

2025 has also seen games like Monster Hunter Wilds, Kingdome Come Deliverance 2, and Split Fiction released and it’s been only three months. Hollow Knight: Silksong will undoubtedly be among the top games released this year, however, only after playing the game we will know it’s going to be crowned the 2025 GOTY.
