Astro Bot can’t stop winning Game of The Year awards

The winners for the 14th Annual New York Game Awards are announced and Astro Bot takes home another Game of the Year trophy. Not only the GOTY, Astro Bot also secured two more awards for Best Music in a Game and Best Kids Game, further adding to its massive collection of accolades since its release.

Developed by Team Asobi, the game became an instant hit among some of the best releases of 2024, like Final Fantasy Rebirth, Black Myth Wukong, and others. The game concluded 2024 with a total of 104 awards to its name, making Astro Bot the most awarded platformer game of all time. It’s hard to believe something with such a simple premise can be so much fun

As of now, Astro Bot is also the top game of 2024, securing a total of 110 awards out of 304, as noted by the Game of the Year award tracker. That’s over 35% of the awards going to Astro Bot. For comparison, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth was in the second spot with 38 awards in total.
