Less than a week remains before players drop into Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Season 2. Ahead of that, Activision has shared an overview of everything coming in the next update. Conclusion for Season 1 was a bit rocky with several player complaints; however, the developers have promised better resolution and new content.

Season 2 for Black Ops 6 is kicking off with five new multiplayer maps. These are bounty, dealership, lifeline, bullet, and grind. The first three maps will be available on launch, while the remaining two will be added mid-season to refresh content in an attempt to keep players engaged.

Along with the multiplayer maps, there are also new game modes. The Overdrive game mode provides a twist to the classic Deathmatch by allowing players to rack up streaks and unlock more special Operator abilities during the match. Gun Game is also returning with the Season 2 update.

Some of the highlights for the upcoming Call of Duty update were previously revealed. These include the ability to pause matches in a pre-made ‘Zombies’ lobby, allowing players to strategise and complete waves accordingly. Zombies game mode in general is getting some live in the upcoming season with a new map ‘The Tomb’ and multiple new enemies in the mix.

Activision promises better action against cheaters

The overview was there generally to highlight all the new stuff coming with Season 2 along with other quality-of-life updates; however, one of the most important changes incoming is for the Ricochet anti-cheat, which will see a major overhaul.

Console players are also getting an option to turn off crossplay, which was highly praised and solves almost all of the problems console players had. PC players, on the other hand, have moral support and a bunch of changes to anti-cheat to further lower the cheating problem.
