Season 2 for Call of Duty Black Ops 6 is set to drop on January 28th. The zombies mode is also getting some love in the update with a new map and many quality-of-life changes that players requested, including the ability to pause during a Zombies multiplayer match.
The new map ‘The Tomb’ was revealed in the latest Call of Duty blog post along with a short story on how the excavation site was built upon an ancient burial ground. As one would expect, the dead come to life in the dense catacombs.
“As the rumors have it, a British archeologist by the name of Sir Archibald Fotherington-Smythe conducted an excavation at the site back in 1908 with grand expectations. Although no one can say for sure what became of him, a handful of photographs from his doomed expedition have recently surfaced,” the post read.

Multiple Quality-of-Life changes to Black Ops 6 Zombies
One of the most awaited additions in the upcoming update is the ability to pause during the match. This will allow players to take a breather deep into a run. There are, however, a few caveats as all players need to be in the party and the match can only be paused by the party leader.
Another change is the ability to customize the HUD for Zombies mode separately from multiplayer allowing players to have different layouts across different game modes. AFK penalties have also been toned down in the next Balck Ops 6 update and players who were kicked for inactivity will now rejoin the match with Loadout, Essence, and Salvage completely restored.
The post also reveals that gamers have put over 480 million hours into CoD Black Ops 6 Zombies, but surprisingly, only 8% of players have completed the Main Quests for Zombies. The devs hope that they will be able to raise these numbers much higher this year.
