It’s a good day to be a console player as Season 2 of Call of Duty Black Ops 6 will provide the option to turn off crossplay in consoles. This has been one of the most requested features by the players amidst the increasing number of cheaters inside the game. An official update from Treyarch, the development studio behind Black Ops 6 outlined this information, and console players are quite happy.

“In Season 02, we are enabling the ability to disable cross-play for console players who want to compete only against other console players. This is currently in testing and is planned to go live for both Black Ops 6 Ranked Play and Warzone Ranked Play during S02,” the official post said.

As for PC players, they are left with consolations from the Ricochet anti-cheat team who revealed that they have banned over 136,000 players since ranked mode launched. Furthermore, there are new warning systems for spam reporting and playing with cheaters on multiple occasions. There is also a new ‘Major kernel-level driver update’ effectiveness for which remains to be tested.

More quality-of-life features in Black Ops 6 multiplayer and warzone

Along with the ability to disable crossplay, the Vote to Forfeit feature is also being implemented. Later down the road, Black Ops 6 Season 2 will also see a rejoin match feature in ranked matches allowing players to avoid penalties in case of any unforeseen disconnection.

Warzone is also getting an overhaul in weapons with an increased reload speed of up to 20%, penalty reduction in sprint-to-fire, faster weapon swap speed, and more. Player movement has also been tweaked a bit with an increase in jump speed and successive jump height along with faster animation for parachute cut animation.

This along with the upcoming changes to Zombies mode seems quite impressive, at least for console players. The response regarding these changes has generally been very positive, however, the impact can only be measured after the update is deployed.
