FIA is under complete controversy and slamming people from every direction after they gave punishment to Max Verstappen for Swearing in press meet. FIA also warned drivers of getting a race ban if they swear over the team radio.
FIA President Ben Sulayem was also under attack by Former world champion Lewis Hamilton for racist remarks after he compared F1 drivers with Rappers. He said, “We are different. We are not rappers.” Hamilton found the word to have a racial element and he expressed disappointment.
Ben Sulayem Opens up finally
After all these controversies the FIA president has finally opened up about the issues. Ben Sulayem feels that the federation will never get credit for what it does to improve the way motorsport is running. Ben Sulayem in his leadership has done many improvements to the Motorsport. He introduced a remote operations centre to assist with race control on the track.
He also found a solution for the Austrian circuit's long-lasting problem by introducing new track limit solutions. The same kind of solution could be introduced everywhere else. He feels FIA needs more credits and financial support for its investments.
When talked about this Ben Sulayem said, “No, We will never get the credit. Impossible. Well only get rubbish. That I Know. When you look at it, everybody made money out of the FIA, everyone except that FIA. Everyone gets the credit, except the FIA.
Liberty Media did a great job in transforming Formula 1. They are good promoters. The FIA works with them in the best possible way. Let everybody make money. Let the drivers have fun, race in a safe way and make money. And let the team principals make more money, they are. But the FIA will never get the credit. Impossible.” In recent times FIA came under pressure after many drivers complained about FIA's new rules and regulations in racing. Max Verstappen's father and racer Jos Verstappen also slammed FIA for not doing a good job for the sport.
