Formula 1 World champion Max Verstappen is upset after FIA has asked F1 to limit the Swearing over radio during television coverage of races. The Formula 1 Swearing happens over team radio mostly by the drivers in the heat of the moment. Formula One management controls the broadcasting of the races and usually beeps out the swear words spoken by the drivers. FIA president Mohammed Ben Sualyem is looking to change the tone of the sport.
He asked the drivers to monitor the language spoken during races. He said “We have to differentiate our sport- motorsport and Rap Music. We are not rappers, you know. They say the F-word how many times per minute? We are not on that. That's them and we are us.”
He also said he understands the drivers using the F-word during the race. He says, “I know, I was a driver, In the heat of the moment, when you think you are upset because another driver came to you and pushed you… when I used to drive in the dust I would get upset.”
The FIA president says drivers need to be careful with their conduct. He asked them to be responsible as technology grows everything is live and recorded. He wants to minimize the swearing and dirty language as people watch races with their children.
World champion not happy with FIA
On the other hand Formula 1 Champion Max Verstappen is very upset with the FIA's decision of limiting swearing over the radio. He expressed his feelings by comparing F1 with other sports. Max says, “I think a lot of things get broadcasted but in other sports, you don't run around with a mic attached to you. People say a lot of bad things when they're full of adrenaline in other sports, it just doesn't get picked up!.”
