Stone Cold Steve Austin spoke about the possibility of him returning to action in the ring. The last match Stev Austin was a part of was in WrestleMania 38, where he took on Kevin Owens on Night One and had something special for Mr McMahon and Pat McAfee. Since then, Stone Cold has been rumoured to return to action quite a few times. The most popular of them was last month.
During WrestleMania XL, he was rumoured to assist Cody Rhodes against The Rock and the Bloodline. However, Stone Cold did not return. It is worth noting that the Attitude Era star has not announced his retirement yet. Stone Cold was in an interview recently during A&E's Biography. When asked about his appearances in the ring, the former world champion gave his honest assessment about himself.
Austin claimed that if he did not get an opportunity to be in action, it would be the end of the road for him. Steve added that he is happy with what he has done for the company so far. While Stone Cold acknowledged the fact that there are wrestlers with better longevity than him, he claimed that he is happy with his run in WWE. Steve felt he had nothing to prove to anyone.
Will Stone Cold face CM Punk?
"If I never get in the ring again in my life, I'm 100%. I walked away. I'm happy with what I did. There's people who have done more or lasted longer. I had a pretty good run and I'm pretty happy with it. So, I ain't got nothing to prove to nobody," said Stone Cold in the interview.
While Steve has done everything possible in WWE, there is one wish that is echoed by the fans. CM Punk had wished to face the Attitude Era Star in a match. Given the fact that Austin likes to wrestle Punk, it could be a reality. If there ever would be a retirement match, CM Punk might just be the best opponent for Austin.
