Gunther uploaded a post on X and asked the fans to guess his next destination in WWE. The ring general has not been in action after the conclusion of WrestleMania XL. The member of the Imperium lost to Sami Zayn in the event which led to a historic feat. It ended the longest run of an Intercontinental champion in the history of the tournament. Gunther elevated the worth of the title.
The ring general is known for delivering classic matches. His in-ring skills are appreciable. The former IC champion is known for carrying a good match to make it a great viewing experience for the fans. There is a cult fanbase for Gunther for his ability to deliver great matches. Some of his best matches have come in NXT with Ilja Dragunov, Pete Dunne, and many others.
Given his history, many fans wished to see him on the roster. The ring general did not expect to lose to Sami Zayn, who he regarded to be his level. Hence, the result came as a surprise for many, The commentators regarded it to be a miracle and rather an upset. But since it is now the past, the focus would be to look forward. Gunther asked the fans the same.
Is Gunther heading to Smackdown?
It is interesting to note that Gunther posted on X just a night before the Friday Night Smackdown. Many are speculating Gunther to join Smackdown in the coming days. If he indeed is joining the roster, the only two possibilities seem to be of him challenging either Cody Rhodes or Logan Paul for the titles. Cody finished his story on Night Two and won his maiden world title.
On the other hand, Logan Paul successfully defended his US Championship by beating Randy Orton and Kevin Owens in the triple threat match. It also makes sense, as Raw seems to be currently occupied more than Smackdown. Sami is having a feud with Chad Gable and Damian Priest already has his opponent for Backlash. If Gunther is to remain in Raw, he will not have any worthy competitors to take on.
