First look of The Rock's upcoming movie surprises fans

The first look of the upcoming movie of the Rock is out. 'Smashing Machine' is a biopic of Matt Kerr, an MMA legend. The former UFC star won a lot of titles in different styles and was an inspiration for me. The first look of the movie is about a practice session or a bout which looks stunning. Dwayne seems to be totally involved in the role.

To help him be the younger version of Kerr, it looks like the facial prosthetics are used. After doing so, Dwayne Johnson does not look a bit like himself. It is a brilliant way to go about the movie as getting the closest possible version to Kerr would provide the best viewing experience for the audience. The first look has got huge thumbs up from the fans.

On Instagram, The Rock had shared the practice sessions he was going through to prepare for the role. Unlike WWE which is a freestyle wrestling and has certain skills involved, UFC is a bit different. On his social media handle, Johnson posted the images of him involving in learning the skills and moves of an UFC wrestler. The images were shared by the fans to make it viral.

About the Smashing Machine

The movie is about the life of the MMA legend. Professionally, he was always committed and gave his everything. But in the personal life, he had a problem with addiction and marriage. To depict the role well, Dwayne has worked on the character development. The movie is directed by Benny Safdie who has previously worked with Emily Blunt. It is set to hit the big screens earlier next year.

Emily will be playing the role of Kerr's wife. She has previously acted with Dwayne and wanted him to play the role after watching a past documentary of Matt. The discussions regarding the movie happened way back in 2019. But the materialization could happen only recently. Due to pandemic and schedules, it got postponed. Safdie and Emily were both a part of Oppenheimer.
