Dave Meltzer has claimed that neither John Cena nor Roman Reigns is likely to feature at the Survivor Series War Games 2025. In the Wrestling Observer Radio's latest episode, the veteran expert addressed Cena's Intercontinental Championship win on WWE Raw on November 10.

Dave claimed it should've led to him teaming up with Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, and others, contrary to what he's being told. He felt his initial thought was that Cena was forming a dream babyface War Games team alongside Cody, Punk, Roman, and Jey. On Wrestling Observer Radio (WOR), he reported a contradiction of his expectations.

"Now that Cena already beat Dominik for the title, I thought that meant that match (Mysterio vs. Cena) isn't happening in San Diego. I figured, why not do Cena, Roman Reigns, Punk, Jey Uso, and Cody Rhodes, and make it like a dream team for the babyface team at War Games?" Meltzer said in the latest episode of WOR.

Are John Cena and Roman Reigns set to miss the Survivor Series War Games match in 2025?

He added that the current plans for the War Games do not have either Cena or Roman. "Now I can tell you that that's not happening. I was told 'not even close'," Meltzer added in his statement. Fans have questioned the legitimacy behind his take on the match.

While there could be a case for Cena not being a part of the War Games, as he might also defend his IC Title, Roman is not involved in anything else apart from his story with The Vision. Since he has been advertised for the Survivor Series 2025, the OTC is likely to feature in the War Games.
