John Cena appeared on the Pat McAfee Show on jorts before his retirement match against Gunther at SNME. It is his last interview before retiring as an active performer on the 13th of December, 2025. The Leader of the Cenation Army regarded it one of his last lottery tickets and hoped for a good night.

"Both @PatMcAfeeShow and I have shared a similar sentiment many times before: No one does it alone. So grateful for all of the time spent with my fellow @WWE Superstars, every fan who’s ever been there live AND watched at home, to the HUGE family behind the camera that make us look better than we are," Cena wrote on X.

The post was a reply to McAfeee's post on X regarding their intraction on the Pat McAfee Show. "Omnia Dedi, Omnibus Gratias Ago. One last “lottery ticket” to make good on tomorrow night!" Cena added in his statement on X. The post was a reply to one of McAfee's tweets which pointed at Cena's quote from the show.

Will Gunther make John Cena give up?

"'I understand exactly how lucky I am and very rarely does life hand us a lottery ticket. Every lottery ticket is a chance to work harder. We shared a lot of moments and this business means the world to me' ~ @JohnCena #PMSLive," McAfee wrote on X.

John will face the Ring General in his retirement match. Cena might himself push for Gunther's win and put him over to bid adieu as an active wrestler. There is also a possibility of Gunther becoming only the fourth wrestler after Chris Jericho, Chris Benoit, and Kurt Angle to claim a win via submission over Cena.
