Oba Femi addressed Cody Rhodes on the December 9 episode of NXT, ahead of their match at SNME on December 13, 2025. The Ruler of NXT claimed that Cody will realize that he is the present and inevitable. He also took a shot at the American Nightmare after beating Ricky Saints to reclaim the NXT Title at Deadline 2025.

"Saturday Night's Main Event, I will stand across the ring from Cody Rhodes and he will look me in my eyes and he will not see potential, he will not see the future, he will see the now. He will see the inevitable, The Ruler, The Destroyer, The Bringer of War in all my glory, Oba Femi," The Ruler of NXT said in his promo.

Oba Femi's verbal attack on Cody Rhodes ahead of SNME

After beating Saints to reclaim his NXT Title at Deadline, Oba addressed Cody. He noted how change is the only constant and reminded the Undisputed WWE Champion that change forced Saints to hand over the title back to him and many other instances to let Rhodes know what's coming for him.

"The biggest factor is change. Change came knocking at the door of Ricky Saints tonight, and it asked for his title. And he had no choice but to relinquish because change always wins. When change met the dinosaurs, he sent the meteor," Oba said after beating Ricky.

"When change met man in the Old Testament, he sent the flood. And when Change comes to the main roster asking for Cody Rhodes, he will send The Ruler, The Destroyer, The Bringer of War, Oba Femi," he added after Deadline.
