In a recent podcast, Kurt Angle claimed that a movie was being made on his epic Olympic campaign. In the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, Kurt won a gold medal with a broken neck. Angle said that the movie would be focusing only on his Olympic career and not his Pro Wrestling career. He added that the script for the movie is developed and the search is on for the actors and investors.

Kurt Angle said that the story is about a kid from the streets of Pittsburgh streets overcoming odds including a broken neck to win an Olympic gold. He claimed that Ian and Eshom Nelms are directing the movie and want it to be similar to the likes of 'Rocky', 'Iron Claw', and 'The Fighter'.

"I got a movie going on. Really proud of this. It’s a really great story, it’s about a kid from the streets of Pittsburgh who overcomes all these obstacles, including a broken neck, to win the Olympic gold medal. It’s only about my Olympic career, it’s not about my pro wrestling career," said the former WWE Superstar in the interview.

Kurt Angle's highest excitement since winning Olympic gold

Kurt added that he was very excited about the movie and claimed to be working behind the scenes in a movie for the first time. He felt the story needed to be told on the big screen and said to be highly excited for the first time since winning the gold medal at the Atlanta Olympics 1996.

Angle was asked for an update on the movie. He said that the scripting for the movie was complete and there has been a search for the actors and the investors. Fans jumped into the update and claimed that Chad Gable deserved to play the role of Kurt in the movie.

"Right now, we just got the script done. We’re shopping for investors, which shouldn’t be a problem. After that, we pick the cast. This is going to happen probably in the next three months. We have a few (casting candidates), I can’t say any names, but we have a few good names we’re thinking about," added Angle.
