WATCH: Throwback to Mark Henry's weight lift of 175 kg in Atlanta Olympics 1996

Mark Henry lifted a massive weight of 175 kg in one of his attempts at the Atlanta Olympics in 1996. The mighty lifter took part in the Olympics in 1992 and 1996 in the Super-Heavyweight category of 110 and 108 kgs respectively. The World's strongest man ended up finishing 14th and 10th in his events respectively. His lifts were impressive though he could not win any medal for the USA.

However, Mark Henry had a great career as a weightlifter. He took part in the Pan-American Games in 1995 and won the gold medal in the Snatch category. Additionally, he took part in the 1991 US Juniors and won the title. Even at the Senior level, he won the titles in the 1992-94 and the 1996 editions. The weightlifter won the title at the US Olympic Festival in 1993-94.

In the video, Henry lifted a total of 175 kg in one attempt. It was the Snatch category where the lifters were not allowed to pause a bit to lift the weight. In a single lift, Henry achieved the target. Apart from weightlifting, Henry made a name for himself in the Strongman and Powerlifting events. In 2002, Henry won the Arnold Strongman Classic, making him the world's strongest man.

The birth of the world's strongest man

After his career as a Weightlifter, Mark joined WWE in the Attitude Era. Towards the end of it, he left the company to pursue a powerlifting career. He returned to the company as the world's strongest man. During his days in the Attitude Era, Henry was a part of the faction featuring The Rock. In his run in the Ruthless Aggression Era and the PG Era, Mark was a terrific heel.

Recently, Mark's son got a contract signed with WWE. It is to be seen how good his son is as a wrestler. On the other hand, Odyssey Jones, one of the friends of Henry, made his debut on Raw and took out the Final Testament all by himself. Many are expecting him to see in the company. It is to be seen if he returns to WWE in the near future.
