WWE superstar CM Punk is back in the spotlight, not for a scandal, but for his WWE contract. CM Punk returns to WWE in 2023, following a nearly nine-year hiatus. Over the past two days, rumors have circulated that Punk is working on a new agreement with WWE.

It was rumored that Punk is in negotiations with WWE about renegotiating his contract and that he wants to stay with the organization forever. Then another rumor surfaced, claiming that CM Punk's pact with WWE was only temporary when he returned and that he is now renegotiating it.

However, Punk does not appear to be amused by the rumors surrounding his WWE deal, and he seems to have fired back at the news outlets. Punk took to his social media account and posted a very cryptic remark that was clearly about his WWE contract. He expressed himself as follows: "I used to rush to defend myself against false accusations but now I watch to see who believes it, so I know who to cut off first," as per Pink Villa reported.

In the middle of all of this, PWInsider reported today that Punk signed a three-year contract with WWE last year that would last until November 2026. So this puts an end to all of the rumors that CM Punk's contract was about to expire and he was negotiating a new agreement with WWE.

CM Punk to face Drew Mclntrye in SummerSlam 2024

It's also curious that Punk's contract renegotiation rumors have surfaced just before he is about to make his in-ring return at SummerSlam 2024 on August 3. Punk is embroiled in a high-octane fight with Drew McIntyre. The twist in the narrative is the addition of Seth Rollins as the match's guest referee.

The match's outcome, which might go either way or to no man with  Seth Rollins acting as the spoiler, is what's worth waiting for. August 3, 2024, is SummerSlam, and everyone is watching.
