WATCH: Casper Ruud and Grigor Dimitrov fired up after Carlos Alcaraz win in Laver Cup

There have been some great Laver Cup events which we have witnessed in the last 7 years, but this might be the first time where we saw both the teams actually one the same points after six matches. While Frances Tiafoe had surprised everyone with his amazing performance by winning the first match of the day for Team World, Carlos Alcaraz makes sure he gets Team Europe back into the tournament and beats Ben Shelton in straight sets.

This was an important match for Carlos Alcaraz to prove himself after facing a disappointing loss on Day 1 in the doubles match where he partnered with World number 2 Alexander Zverev. However, we saw Alcaraz dominate Ben Shelton in this match beating him straight sets with scores of 6-4 each. This was the first win for Alcaraz that made sure Team World lost their lead straight away after the first match of the day bringing the overall score to 4-4.

Casper Ruud and Grigor Dimitrov fired up

There is no doubt that Alcaraz will be happy to get his side out of trouble after seeing Medvedev lose a thrilling game to Tiafoe, but we all forget that the Laver Cup involves the teammates as well. Even the Team Europe players were happy to see Alcaraz get his win against Shelton. We could see the following clip of Casper Ruud and Grigor Dimitrov who were absolutely fired up seeing the World number 3 win his first Laver Cup match and get the first points for Team Europe on day 2.
