Frances Tiafoe compares himself to Roger Federer after laver Cup win against Daniil Medevedev

The 2nd day of the Laver Cup has started with a bang as we have already seen the most thrilling matches between Frances Tiafoe and Daniil Medvedev. The match went down the wire and saw Tiafoe get his first-ever victory over the Russian number 1 after being one set down in the match. This was a great game between the two players which was finally decided on a tiebreaker which went in favor of the American.

This win from Frances Tiafoe put Team World back in the lead in the event with 3 more matches still to go. This will give McEnroe and his men a lot of confidence going forward into the event and this was also an important game for Tiafoe who has been having a terrible season in 2024 so far where he has remained titleless and has even fallen in the rankings.

Tiafoe compares himself to the Maestro

There is no doubt that this was a great performance from the former World number 10 who was the underdog in this encounter as he had not won a single match against Medvedev. However, Tiafoe is known to be attracted to all the drama and he did that once again during the post match interview. When the reporter asked him a question on him getting his first victory over Medvedev Frances answered the question saying " t was crazy  after the 2nd set I felt like I was Roger Federer, honestly."

This was a big comparison made by Tiafoe who out of nowhere compared himself to the legend after one great performance. This has also created some drama on social media where the trolls on Tiafoe have started once again. Though we were happy seeing Tiafoe winning this game against the Russian number 5, it might have been slighltly far fetched to compare yourself to one of the most legendary names in not only tennis but the World of sports as well.
