WATCH: Grigor Dimitrov’s Epic rally in the Laver Cup singles against Team World’s Alejandro Tabilo

Grigor Dimitrov gives Team Europe a 2-1 advantage over Team World in the Laver Cup after defeating Alejandro Tabilo in a Singles match. Dimitrov was caught up in an epic rally against Alejandro where he played some of the unplayable shots in the tournament's history.

The main highlight of the match was the rally between the two as Tabilo started the serve putting Dimitrov under a lot of pressure. But Dimitrov absorbed the pressure and drew Tabilo into the nets with a cross-court drop volley.

Alejandro went for the crosscourt as Dimitrov flicked a slice behind his back sending the crowd wild. Even the legend Roger Federer can’t sit idle seeing the epic rally. Gregor Dimitrov celebrated the rally win with his team captain and his teammates while the crowd applauded his epic rally win. The Chilean left-hander also needs to be appreciated as he served some of the high-quality shots and used the full width of the tennis court. 

Dimitrov withdrew from the US Open due to a hamstring injury during his quarter-final match against the American Frances Tiafoe. Dimitrov beat Alejandro Tabilo 7-6(4), 7-6 (2) making it one of the best matches in the tournament. 

After their epic match, the Chilean tennis player said “I felt like there were some incredible points from both of us. Grigor moves so well- he covers the court so well, that you feel like you have to hit an extra shot. I felt we were both playing some great tennis. The first set was an incredible level.”

Alejandro Tabilo also felt he could take some positives out of the Laver Cup match. He said, “I feel like im finding my game again after a few rough matches. Just knowing that I can hit all those shots tells me that if I can play loose, I can play more solid and aggressive.”
