Carlos Alcaraz and Casper Ruud (Source-Ouest France)
The season is still on and the fans are really invested in the Laver Cup this season which is one of the most iconic tournaments in the World of tennis. There have been some talented players this season who are part of this event including Spanish upcoming superstar Carlos Alcaraz who made his debut in the tournament yesterday playing the last doubles match alongside one of his biggest rivals.

The rise of Carlos Alcaraz is a story which has been trending for the last few years on how at the age of just 21 he has achieved so much in the game. Carlos Alcaraz might have not had the best of tournaments in the hard court season, but is still one of the top-ranked players in the game ranked at number 3 in the world. This might not have been one of those dominant seasons like the last two years but he has still had some iconic moments this season.
Ruud praises Alcaraz
The first day of the Laver Cup was quite dramatic where both Team Europe and Team World are currently tied at a score of 2-2. Though in the singles game, Team Europe came on top, Alcaraz and Zverev completely failed against the American duo of Taylor Fritz and Ben Shelton. Though Alcaraz did not win there are still a lot of praises coming his way.
One of the players who has praised him is World number 9 Casper Ruud saying "Having a young player like him is great news for tennis. He can do amazing things on the court; he has a talent rarely seen in this sport, and I have great admiration for him because what he is doing is remarkably meritorious. I hope he can continue to improve and be able to defeat him in future battles, but I expect him to continue to have great success for many years to come.”
These words from the Ice Man are enough to tell us why Alcaraz is considered one of the next big things in the sport and is held very highly at such a young age. The 4-time Grand Slam winner has a great future ahead of him and just like Ruud, we all hope he can continue to have great success.
