Sumit Nagal claimed to be proud of the Indian cricket team. Wimbledon posted a video on Instagram where the star player was asked about India winning the T20 World Cup. The reporter asked if Sumit was proud of the Indian team. The Tennis star claimed that not just him but the entire country was happy with India winning the T20 World Cup 2024 after 17 years.

Nagal did not have a great campaign in England. India's current best singles player lost to Kecmanovic in the first round of the Wimbledon 2024. Despite dragging the match to the fourth round, the Indian player could not win the match. He further lost in the first round of the tournament in the men's doubles. Partnering with Lajovic, Sumit lost to the Spanish duo of Martinez and Munar.

Despite the first-round loss in both events, Sumit got a good price for the participation. The Indian team broke the jinx of not winning an ICC title as they won the T20 World Cup 2024. It was their first T20 World Cup win since 2007. A collective team effort helped the Indian team to win their second title, beating some of the top cricket teams in the world like Australia, England, South Africa, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and so on.

Indian team all set for victory parade

Nagal was helped by Virat Kohli during his difficult times in the sport. The celebration of the Indian team has been wild so far. And it was not even the start of a huge celebration. After so many delays, the Indian team finally landed in India. The players are all set to go on a victory parade which is set to take place at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Some of the top officials of BCCI will be in attendance along with the fans who would be appreciating the players. Earlier this day, the Indian players were greeted by the Indian PM Narendra Modi in his office. Some of the top players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, and others got to interact with the Indian PM. Fans are likely to throng to the stadium in huge numbers to welcome the Indian team.
