The entire Indian team made their way to the official residence of the Indian PM Narendra Modi on Thursday. Virat Kohli took to his official handle Instagram and posted his thoughts on how he felt after the interaction.

It was a special day as the members of the victorious T20 World Cup side were greeted by the Indian PM. The players spent time posing for pictures with the PM as the people inside the room were smiling and happy.

Virat Kohli wrote on his Instagram handle, "What a great honour meeting our honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji today. Thank you sir for inviting us to the Prime Minister’s residence."

Busy day awaits Team India

Once the Indian team landed in New Delhi, they were welcomed by a huge fanbase outside the airport. Rohit Sharma the Indian skipper held the trophy in the air and displayed proudly as the crowd let out a massive cheer.

On reaching the hotel, the team was greeted by Dhol playing musicians as the cricketers revelled in delight and danced to their heart’s content. The likes of Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, and Rohit Sharma himself could be seen shaking their legs.

Jay Shah the BCCI secretary and Roger Binny the BCCI president were later seen gifting a customized jersey to PM Modi. It was a great touch to what was a great start to the day for each member of the Indian side.

The hotel staff at the famous ITC Maurya had prepared a huge cake with a replica of the T20 Title on top. The entire team were also given a special breakfast with customized snacks for consumption. Yet another cake had a huge bat with stumps and a ball with a congratulatory message at the bottom.

Rohit Sharma was served his favourite Vada Pav while Virat Kohli feasted on Chole Bhature. The team once they finished their breakfast made it to the 7 Lok Kalyan Marg to meet PM Modi.

In a few hours, the whole team will land in Mumbai and they will be seen going to the Wankhede Stadium in an open bus. Something similar had taken place in 2007 when the Indian team under MS Dhoni won the inaugural T20 World Cup in South Africa beating Pakistan in the finals.

The team will then end their day with celebrations at the Wankhede Stadium. Rohit Sharma is expected to make his statements along with the rest of the Indian team on Thursday in front of a massive gathering of fans.
