There have been a lot of great stories to tell in the ongoing US Open which has given us some incredible moments so far and we all enjoyed the performances of some of the players already. This has also been the rare tournament where we saw most of the top ranked players being eliminated in the tournament with some surprise packages entering the semi finals.
There is only one Grand Slam winner in both the mens and womens singles category with Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka being the only top ranked players who have made it far in this competition. It has been a great Grand Slam event for them so far and though they will be the favorites in the tournament we all will be looking forward to the other players who have been equally impressive in the Grand Slam event in New York so far.
The Emergence of American players
This season almost saw the decline of American Tennis players with only Coco Gauff making the headlines, but it is safe to say that this has been a tournament where the American players who were not really in the best of forms have been playing some great tennis. There have been four American players who have currently made it into the semi finals so far with Frances Tiafoe who before this tournament was having an underwhelming season where he had failed to win a single title has now got the chance to create Grand Slam glory and Taylor Fritz who was only getting victories in small tournaments has made it to his first ever Grand Slam semi final finally breaking the quarter final curse.

The American Wome singles players have been equally great. Though we saw defending champion Coco Gauff exit the tournament in the quarter finals, the likes of Emma Navarro who is one of the most promising young players finally living up to her potential and Jessica Pegula finally breaking into the semi finals after beating World number one Iga Swiatek. Overall this has been a dream tournament for American tennis which has been a great story of the tournament.
