Taylor Fritz gets to first Grand Slam semi final after beating Alexander Zverev in US Open quarterfinals

The US Open has been full of suprises and this has really been a tournament all of us has enjoyed this tournament which has been full of drama and excitement. What has been the most iconic thing in this tournament is the performance of the American tennis players this season. The players have been playing some of their best tennis which all of us have been enjoying so far.

The tournament is currently in the quarter finals and the first match of the playoffs was played between World number 4 Alexander Zverev and American number one Taylor Fritz. While Zverev was the favorite in this matchup being an in form player, Fritz has been one of the biggest surprise packages beating Berrettini and Casper Ruud to reach his 4th Grand Slam quarter finals and has looked in great touch so far. Overall this was a matchup and tournament that still had a lot of surprises to come our way.

Fritz reaches first Grand Slam semi final

It was made clear in the first set itself that Fritz was not going to make it an easy battle for Alexander Zverev as  he beats the German in the first set tiebreaker. The second set however saw the World number 4 make a comeback with the German number one player winning 6 games to 3 making this a match to watch out for. The battle was still on as Zverev was put undewr pressure once Again with Fritz taking the third set with a score of 6-4 and made sure that he was one set away from the semis. The last set was another grueling battle between the two but it was finally Fritz who has the last laugh as he makes it to his first Grand Slam semi final.

This was another surprising result and this time we have another player from the top 5 ranked players make an exit from the US Open. This is one of the biggest wins of Taylor Fritz's career and now he will have the chance to create history as he will be only two wins away from Grand Slam glory.
