Sania Mirza was highly excited for the 7th edition of the Indian Tennis Premier League, which will take place in December 2025. Following the auctions, the Gurgaon Grand Slammers brand ambassador noted that she's a part of a new team but claimed that the goal is to win the title.
Sania made a note of Gurgaon's squad for the 2025 season. She regarded it to be very good and noted that the team has players who are either in the top 40 rankings in the world or have achieved the feat in the past. The 6-time Grand Slam winner looked forward to be a part of the tournament in her maiden stint with the Grand Slammers.

"We are very excited. I am part of a new team. The goal is to try to win. We already have an icon player with us who's very, very good and who's an international player who's top 40 in the world. So we're really looking forward to the option," Mirza told IANS. She then praised the league and credited it for the growth of Tennis in the country.

"Yeah, the more champions you watch, the more champions you create. The more belief system you create and this is a tournament that has been going on for 7 years. It's not a joke to have an international tournament, growing to the extent that this has grown from where it started in 2018," Sania added in her statement.

Gurgaon has a good squad, which is led by the ATP World No.38, Corentin Moutet, and has Nuria Parrizas, who achieved a career-best ranking of 45 in 2022. In the auction, Gurgaon bought Sriram Balaji for INR 12 lakh, who was the joint-costliest player of the season.
