Former tennis player Rick Macci has named men's and women's French Open 2025 favorites to win the titles. The 70-year-old legendary player has named Carlos Alcaraz and Iga Swiatek to win the titles this time. Notably, both ATP and WTA stars are the defending champions and will give their best to defend their title. However, his picks have shocked the tennis world, as he snubbed Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka, who has been in red-hot form this time.

Carlos Alcaraz and Aryna Sabalenka have won three titles this year

Tennis star Carlos Alcaraz has won the ABN Amro Open, Monte Carlo Masters, and Italian Open 2025 while making it to the finals of the Barcelona Open. The four-time Grand Slam winner is set to face stiff competition from other ATP stars such as Jakub Mensik, Casper Ruud, Holger Rune, Jack Draper, Novak Djokovic, and Jannik Sinner. However, his ability to perform on the biggest stage makes him a favorite to win the title again in Paris.

On the other hand, Jannik Sinner won the Australian Open 2025 earlier this year in Melbourne Park and made it to the finals of the Italian Open 2025. He has missed many tours due to his doping ban.

"Alcaraz is my pick to win the French. The key for the Magician is to play with measured aggression every session . He has to win with legs and more Air mail then he can Nail. When he offers gifts others he lifts. When they believe they will achieve. @carlosalcaraz," Rick Macci said.

Aryna Sabalenka has won the Brisbane International, the Mutua Madrid Open, and the Miami Open 2025. However, she made it to the finals of the Australian Open, Indian Wells, and Stuttgart Open. Sabalenka has been in stellar form and has been performing well on the red clay courts. She seems one of the favorites here, but the former American tennis star believes in Iga Swiatek's playing style despite her horrendous show. She failed to reach the finals since winning the French Open in 2024.

"My pick against all odds to win the French is IGA. Her game / career is at a dangerous crossroad as she has been so rock solid mentally and now there are cracks. Sometimes when you loose the BIG C and the verbal darts begin to Stack it triggers your championship DNA to come Back," he opined.
