Carlos Alcaraz opines his thoughts facing Frances Tiafoe in third round of Wimbledon 2024

Tennis: As he won the second round, Carlos will take on Frances Tiafoe in the third round of Wimbledon 2024. They will meet again for the first time since the 2022 US Open in which Alcaraz won the game and went on to win the US Open title.

During the second of Wimbledon 2024, world No.3 Carlos Alcaraz defeated Aleksandar Vukic after getting a hard start. He the game by the score of 7-6, 6-2, 6-2. During the opening set of the game, Carlos Alcaraz was struggling. The set went to a tiebreaker as he took a 5-1 lead during the set. While Aleksandar Vukic managed to cut the gap Carlos Alcaraz won the first set. 

During the set, Carlos Alcaraz got his rhythm back and quickly gained an advantage over him and didn’t have him chance to get control of the match. The game went into the third set he started to dominate Aleksandar Vukic winning the second round and marking his spot in the third round. His game against him was showing his growth journey so far till now. At the time Carlos Alcaraz did not have an ATP title and now he has become a seasoned Grand Slam winner which showed his hard work.

According to India Today Carlos Alcaraz stated, "I'm really happy about my performance. The first set was the key for me. He served for the set, then I played a really good tiebreak. In the second set and third set, I played at a really high level. I'm really happy about it," Alcaraz said.

'I’m going for him' - Carlos Alcaraz on facing Frances Tiafoe

During the game, Carlos Alcaraz produced a good backhand down the line which stunned the fans too. Throughout the whole game, Carlos Alcaraz displayed high skills and was forcing tiebreakers in which he won the second set point. As he won the second round Carlos will take on Frances Tiafoe in the third round of Wimbledon 2024. They will meet again for the first time since the 2022 US Open in which Alcaraz won the game and went on to win the US Open title.

After winning the second round Carlos Alcaraz spoke about facing Frances Tiafoe. As per Tennis.com, he said, “I’m going for him!” “I know that he’s a really talented player, a really tough one and maybe even tougher here on grass with his style.”

Carlos Alcaraz will take Frances Tiafoe in the third round of Wimbledon 2024 as he aims to defend his title.
