5. Serena Williams vs Maria Sharapova: 2004 Women's singles final

This was one of the shocking moments in Wimbledon history that we never saw coming at all, the year 2002 was when Serena Williams was almost an unbeatable force to be reckoned with and no one had given a chance to a 17-year-old prodigy from Russia to be much of a challenge for the American star, who seemed to have forgotten how to lose at all. However, fate had other plans as Maria Sharapova went on to win her first-ever Grand Slam title beating Serena in two straight sets. This was a moment none of us saw coming and this was the day where we were introduced to another legend in the making.

This was another champion vs underdog story which gave us another great moment to witness. With Roger Federer retired and Rafael Nadal out injured, everyone had predicted this would be another Novak Djokovic Wimbledon victory, where he will complete his long-awaited three-peat. Unfortunately, there was another Spaniard who came into the foray. looking at the first set of the match it looked like another Djoker Nole landslide victory, but Carlos Alcraz had other plans as he went on to win the next two sets putting the Serbian powerhouse under pressure. Djokovic might have come back in the 4th, but the 5th and final set belonged to Carlos Alcaraz, who went on to win his first-ever Wimbledon title. This was a match of a lifetime for both the players.

This was the match that set the tone of one of the greatest rivalries in Tennis. It was the invincible Roger Federer who had never lost a single Wimbledon final and though Rafael Nadal had got the better of him on clay, he had struggled to get a win against Federer in Wimbledon. Even in this match, the odds were in favor of the Swiss Maestro. However, everything went south straight away for Federer as he lost the first two sets convincingly. This was a Wimbledon final the people were waiting to see as well. Borg was a favorite in this game but got his first surprise as the American snatched the first set from him. After that, it was Borg coming back into his element and winning the next two sets. It was the third set that got the people on their feet which ended a grueling tiebreaker in favor of Mcenroe. This was another great final that could have gone anywhere, but in the end, it was the Swedish machine who finally got the better of the American and won his 5th consecutive Wimbledon title. This was the match that was a huge example of why we enjoyed watching the big three compete against each other. This was a match that went on for over 4 hours and it was still anyone's game. This match included three tie-breaker sets and went down the wire. Both Djokovic and Federer challenged each other throughout the match. It was Djokovic who won the first grueling set only to see Federer get back in the next set. The next set turned out to be as intense as the first one which again went in favor of the Serbian. We then saw the Swiss Maestro come back in the third, but Djokovic resilience came good in the fourth set as well. The last and final set kept the people on their feet and this was one of the longest Grand Slam finals we had ever witnessed at all. This was one of Novak Djokovic's best games where he fought until the end to get his hands on his 5th Wimbledon title and etch his name in history as one of the legends of the game.
