One of the best sports in the world, Tennis has always captured people's attention. Ever since its inception, it has created a space in everybody’s heart and people enjoy playing the game. Some great players have shown how dedicated they are towards the game and have won a lot of grand slams. 

The US Open is one of the Grand Slams played on hard courts and was founded 143 ago in 1881. In 1968, the tournament started allowing all professional players to compete together which was later called the Open Era. Moreover, some players have won the US Open multiple times.

10. John McEnroe 

John McEnroe 

John McEnroe is a former tennis player who has won a total of 155 ATP titles, 77 in ATP Tour singles, 77 in men's doubles, and 1 in mixed doubles. Apart from this, he has won 25 singles titles on the ATP Champions tour. Moreover, he participated in more than 10 US Opens and won eight of them. He has won four trophies in the singles round and four in the doubles. 

9. Serena Williams

One of the best female Tennis players, Serena Williams has won six US Open titles in the singles category and two titles in the doubles category. She was an incredible player who was ranked world No. 1 in singles by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) for 319 weeks. Moreover, this includes a joint-record 186 consecutive weeks. Also, she has finished as the year-end No. 1 five times.

Even though Bob Bryan hasn't won any US Open titles in the singles category, he has won five trophies in doubles and four in the mixed doubles category. Moreover, he has won 23 major titles: 16 in men's doubles and 7 in mixed doubles. Later in 1998, he turned professional.

Hailing from Australia, Margaret Court has won 64 Grand Slam events: 24 singles, 19 doubles, and 21 mixed doubles. Moreover, she has won five US Open titles in the singles category and five in the doubles category. Also, she is among the women to have achieved the calendar year Grand Slam in singles and is the only woman to have achieved the mixed doubles Grand Slam.

 Richard Sears was undefeated in the U.S. Championships for quite a long time. He won the first of his seven consecutive titles in 1881 while he was still a student at Harvard. In total, he won seven US Open singles and six doubles titles.

Martina Navratilova has been one of the most consistent tennis players of all time. She has won 16 US Open titles including singles (4), doubles (9) and mixed doubles (3). Moreover, Navratilova won 18 major singles titles, 31 major women's doubles titles, and 10 major mixed doubles titles, for a combined total of 59 major titles, in the Open Era.

Bill Tilden was the world's No. 1 amateur for six consecutive years, from 1920 to 1925. He has won 16 US Open titles including singles, doubles and mixed doubles. Moreover, he has won 14 Major singles titles, including 10 Grand Slam events, one World Hard Court Championships and three professional majors.

A. Louise Broug is an American Tennis player who won six Grand Slam titles in singles as well as numerous doubles and mixed-doubles titles. Moreover, she was also ranked world No. 1 for the year at the end of the 1955 tennis season by Lance Tingay of the London Daily Telegraph. She has won 17 US Open titles.

Margaret Osborne duPont is an American woman who has won a total of 37 singles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles Grand Slam titles. These together make her fourth on the all-time list. Also, she has never entered the Australian Championships. Moreover, she has won 25 of her Grand Slam titles in the U.S. Championships, which is a record.
