Neeraj Chopra and Avinash Sable set to create history at Brussels Diamond League final 2024

Neeraj Chopra and Avinash Sable are set to create history at the Brussels Diamond League 2024 final. The Indian duo have earned their right to take part in the finals by finishing in the top 6 spots in their respective events. For the first time in the history of Indian sports, two athletes will be featuring in the final of a Diamond League.

Avinash will be taking part in the Men's 3000 meters steeplechase final. The star sprinter has featured in most of the major events lately. However, he has not been able to claim a podium finish in any of the events. His focus would be to script history in Brussels, Belgium.

Sable has broken the national record twice in the last two years. In the Asian Games 2023 last year, Sable had no competition on his way to clinch the gold medal. In Brussels, he will have a tough challenge from the Kenyan and Ethiopian sprinters. With no pressure, Sable would be hoping to do well in Brussels.

Will Neeraj Chopra cross the 90-m mark in Brussels?

Neeraj Chopra will be taking part in the Men's Javelin Throw event. He will be up against some of the top throwers in the world like Julian Weber, Jakub Wadlejch, and Anderson Peters. In the last few events, Neeraj has been in fine form despite not being happy with his performances personally.

The Indian thrower won the Silver medal at the Paris Olympics. In the Lausanne Diamond League, he finished second behind Peters with a season-best throw. The focus of Chopra would be to clinch the Diamond League title and breach the 90-meter mark for the first time in his career.

The Diamond League final is set to take place on two days for the first time in history. The mega event is set to take place on the 14th and 15th of September respectively. Sable will be in action on the first of the two nights. Neeraj will be featured in his event on the 15th of September.
