Lakshya Sen overcame Japan's Yushi Tanaka 21–15, 21–11 in the straight sets to claim his first Super 500 tournament win of the year. The World No.14 had beaten the second seed, Chou Tien Chen, in the semifinal, with a terrific comeback win lasting for 86 minutes. 

Following early exits and a niggle, Lakshya finally claimed glory to end his 2025 season on a high. In the semifinal, Sen faced a tough challenge from the World No.6. The Indian star lost the first set 17-21 and even trailed in the second set. However, he went on to win it 24-22 to take the match to the decider.

The last set was in Sen's favor, which he won 21-16 to progress to the final. Although Tanaka was ranked lower than him, the Japanese was a credible opponent. Lakshya, however, gave his opponent no chance to win. The match lasted for just 38 minutes and Sen won it 21–15, 21–11 in straight sets.

Following his first title win of the year in his very last tournament, Lakshya pulled off a celebration inspired by that of KL Rahul. Sen shut both of his ears as if to send a message that he was shutting all the outside noise. 2025 was a season in which Lakshya had more downs than ups.

The star player suffered multiple injuries and a niggle. His form wasn't great either, as he suffered early exits in many tournaments. However, winning the Australian Open should give him the much-needed confidence heading into the 2026 season, which will have CWG and Asian Games.
