The openers in Karthik's team are Abhishek Sharma and Rohit Sharma. While the latter's selection in justified given his longevity, Abhishek hasn't even played more than two years in T20Is. Virat Kohli was picked by the former wicketkeeper as the undisputed Number 3 and regarded him as one of the greatest T20 players of all-time.

Rahul is the fourth-highest run scorer for India and averages 37.75 with a strike rate of 139.12. Kuldeep averages just 14.07 and has an economy of 6.77 in T20Is. Arshdeep is India's leading wicket-taker in the format and played a key role in the T20 World Cup 2024 win, where he was the leading wicket taker.
