Saina Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap announced their separation on July 13, 2025, after over 6 years of their marriage. The Indian Badminton players got married to each other in December 2018 after dating each other for many years. Nehwal took to Instagram and posted a story to confirm the news, which has shocked the fans.

Kashyap transformed himself from an Indian player to Saina's coach in 2016, which helped their relationship blossom. In her Instagram story, Nehwal claimed to have chosen peace and growth for each other. The Indian Badminton star wished luck to Parupalli for his future endeavours. Nehwal wanted the fans to understand and respect their decision.

"Life takes us in different directions sometimes. After much thought and consideration, Kashyap Parupalli and I have decided to part ways. We're choosing peace, growth, and healing for ourselves and each other. I'm grateful for the memories and wish nothing but the best moving forward. Thank you for understanding and respecting our privacy during this time," wrote Nehwal in her Instagram story.

Saina Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap's achievements in Badminton

Nehwal was India's Number One Badminton star for a long time, especially in the late 2000s and the early 2010s. In the period, she became the first Indian to win an Olympic medal in Badminton, as she won the Bronze medal at the London Olympics. In 2015, she became the first Indian singles badminton star to achieve the Number One rankings.

Additionally, Saina also won two individual Gold medals at the Commonwealth Games in 2010 and 2018, and a mixed team gold in 2010. On the other hand, Kashyap made a name for himself by winning the first CWG Gold in Badminton for India in 2014 and achieved a career-high ranking of 6, which was great considering the players against whom he played most of his career.
