"From the bottom of my heart I hope that one day the fans, supporters will recognise what I did for the team. There was never a minute I didn’t think about the team, since I was six years old, it’s always about Liverpool. To get the reception I got, means a lot for me… I never felt so loved! From the bottom of my heart, I hope the fans recognise the hard work I did over the years," Trent said.

The defender is confirmed to switch to LaLiga giants Real Madrid as a free agent in the upcoming summer transfer window. The defender was greeted with boos by Liverpool fans ever since the news broke out. However, he received a warm farewell on his last appearance for the Reds at Anfield as the crowd in attendance chanted his name as he donned the famous red for the last time.

The 26-year-old is expected to join Real Madrid ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup. The defender graduated from Liverpool's youth team and made his way to the senior side in 2016.
