Florian Wirtz set to join Liverpool in sensational deal: Reports

The young German attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz has made up his mind to join the Premier League club Liverpool. The Bayer Leverkusen star is looking to propel his career to new heights by switching to Anfield from the Bay Arena. 

This football transfer news comes in light of Wirtz's fabulous form despite Bayer failing to defend their Bundesliga title this season. Bayer Leverkusen and Liverpool are in constant talks, and the deal is expected to be done soon.

Florian Wirtz set to join Liverpool 

It is reported that the German club has initiated contract talks with the Reds for the German playmaker. Wirtz's playmaking abilities were already on target by Arne Slot and his management ahead of the upcoming season.

Liverpool are poised to sign Jeremie Frimpong from Leverkusen, and during these discussions, the Reds expressed their interest in acquiring 22-year-old Florian Wirtz. 

Formal negotiations have yet to commence, but they are anticipated to begin soon for a player whom the Bundesliga club values at over £120 million.

Should Liverpool agree to pay such a gargantuan transfer fee, it will surpass Chelsea's transfer record of £107 million for Enzo Fernandez. The German star has expressed his interest in joining the Reds in the upcoming season.

It was reported earlier by several sources that the German player was no longer a prime target for Manchester City. Hence Liverpool remains the only club trying to sign him. Florian Wirtz has made 30 goal contributions this season having netted 16 goals and 14 assists this season. He is sure to be an asset for the Reds should he land at Anfield.
