Star player for Tottenham Hotspur, Rodrigo Bentancur suffered a head injury versus Leicester City and was carried off in frightening scenes. Following a nasty incident in the second half at King Power Stadium, Bentancur underwent extensive treatment on the field. The Tottenham player was given a hearty round of applause by the crowd after appearing to be knocked out.

Abdul Fatawu, the winger for Leicester City, and the Tottenham Hotspur player appeared to have collided, as seen by later photos that revealed a laceration above his eye. Bentancur looked to have been struck unconscious in the accident as he lay splayed on the ground.

The Spurs player got stretchered off during an eight-minute stoppage, after receiving oxygen. He was being treated by the medical staff of both teams, and the players had crowded around him, looking worried. The King Power Stadium's four corners cheered Bentancur off the field.

As part of a quadruple replacement, Tottenham Hotspur used a concussion substitute in place of Bentancur, allowing Lucas Bergvall. Along with him, Archie Gray was able to make his English Premier League debuts. During the game, many major media outlets provided an update stating that Bentancur was conscious and speaking, and Spurs' medical personnel would keep an eye on him all evening.

Will Rodrigo Bentancur play the next game for Tottenham Hotspur?

Next weekend, Tottenham Hotspur will play their second match of the season against Everton. Bentancur's availability is still unknown, but given how much time he spent on the field, it now appears doubtful. There is still no news whether any major scans would be done to check if there is any internal injury as well.

Rodrigo Bentancur caused a stir earlier during the summer when he allegedly said something offensive against Son Heung-Min, a teammate of his at Spurs. As the Uruguayan international was restored into the team, the club promised to provide him with schooling regarding such matters.
