Manchester City won their 6th English Premier League title in seven years under Pep Guardiola. The Sky Blues have been the most dominant side in England over the past few years. City came as the favourites, winning the league ahead of the final day, as a win for them against West Ham United would have sealed the title. They started the game exactly the way it needed to be as Phil Foden scored within the second minute of the game, and the winger made it 2-0 within the first quarter.

However, the Hammers pulled one back right ahead of the first half as Mohammed Kudus scored a brilliant bicycle kick to score the goal. The home side kept on the pressure and they were rewarded as Rodri scored the third for the game near the hour mark. The Spanish midfielder has been one of the best players for the side in the season. He has not lost a game at home in 75 games at Etihad Stadium.

The 27-year-old footballer has been a leader in the middle of the park for the side. After the game, the Spaniard took a dig at Arsenal who were also competing for the league title on the last day. The Gunners had an amazing season, but failed to win the league as they needed Man City to drop points. Rodri after the game commented on what cost the North London side to lose the league.

Rodri takes a dig at Arsenal

The midfielder spoke about the game against his side back on 31st March when Mikel Arteta's side faced the reigning champions at Etihad Stadium. The Gunners have been known for their free-flowing football, changed their game as they played low block defence due to Man City's relentless attacking lines. They took out a point against the home side with a 0-0 draw against, them.

The champion midfielder said, "Arsenal did an unbelievable season but the difference was the mentality. When they came here… they didn’t want to beat us. They just wanted to draw."  City after winning the league did the impossible by winning it four consecutive times in the 136 years of history of the PL.
