Tim Steidten, the technical director of West Ham, has been warned to avoid David Moyes as well as the first team until the remainder of the season. Since Hammers manager Moyes' contract expires this summer and it seems doubtful that he would stay at the London Stadium, Steidten has been spearheading the hunt for possible new managers.

The director does not feel allowed in the first team locker room as a result of the decision to keep the two apart at the London Stadium and the team's Rush Green training base due to growing tensions regarding the Scot's future.

Steidten was told by West Ham of their stance after speaking with Moyes. The 61-year-old's chances of departing when his contract expires are only increased by the current circumstances. The final three West Ham games against Chelsea, Luton, and Manchester City will still be attended by the former director of Bayer Leverkusen and Werder Bremen.

The club's internal base is very supportive of Steidten. Even his brother, Moritz, has joined the 45-year-old as West Ham's head of international scouting and recruitment. David Jr., Moyes's own son, has also served as a scout for the Hammers.

The German has had conversations with Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim as well as former manager of Real Madrid and Wolves, Julen Lopetegui, who has emerged as the front-runner in a scenario in which Moyes leaves.

Why was this decision taken by West Ham United?

According to insiders at West Ham, the decision was made so that Steidten's pursuit of other coaches would not be a distraction for the manager and players as they approach the end of the season.

The East Londoners have not yet decided whether or not to name a new manager, but Moyes' chances of signing a new contract have been further damaged by this incident, which some club members believe was needless.

Following the season's last game, the manager and chairman David Sullivan are expected to have a conversation. After a strong run of results, the Hammers were prepared to extend an offer to the former Everton the head coach in December; however, negotiations came to a standstill due to a decline in play.
