Pep Guardiola expected nothing but a convincing win in front of their home fans and it was the start to the game that he had desired. Phil Foden lined up a shot from just outside the box and the ball nestled in the back of the net. The hosts took the lead within just three minutes after the start of the game and it looked like they would get the job done with ease.

The hosts got another one just after sixteen minutes as Rodri’s brilliant play in midfield released Doku with space on the left wing. The Belgian used his pace well to get a pass away to Phil Foden who stood around the penalty mark and got the shot away and it ended up in the back of the net.Erling Haaland had a few opportunities to increase the lead for the side but squandered some great chances.

West Ham United settled in the game later on and finally managed a goal late in the first half. It was a great goal from Mohammed Kudus as a corner from West Ham caused chaos inside the box and the attacker’s overhead kick saw the ball in the back of the net. Pep Guardiola was also very furious on the touchline when the West Ham United goal went in and he knew that his team had given an opportunity for the visitors to make a comeback.

How did the second half of the game between Manchester City and West Ham United fare?

West Ham United came out positively after the second half and looked to get the second goal to upset the home fans even more. They were able to create far more chances than they were able to produce during the first forty-five minutes. However, the Manchester City defence was resolute at the back and looked determined not to give away the lead.

Their player for the big moment, Rodri stepped up once again for the home team. He got the strike from range and helped increase the lead back to two. They were able to clinch their fourth consecutive league title and would now look to focus on the FA Cup final against Manchester United.
