Chelsea matched up against Newcastle United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon, just a few days ahead of their upcoming encounter in the Carabao Cup fourth round.

The Blues made the trip to St James' Park to build on their performance from the weekend. After a draw with Nottingham Forest and a defeat to Liverpool, Enzo Maresca’s side was determined to regain their momentum and return to winning form.

Newcastle also faced a significant dip in form, heading into the fixture and wanted to give their fans something to cheer for amidst strong poor performances.

The Tale of Closely Contested Affair in First Half

Palmer had a goal disallowed in the 4th minute, narrowly missing out by a fraction. It was unfortunate, as that finish truly deserved to count.

It was impressive to see Palmer's skill shine through again. He executed a perfect run from the inside left channel, expertly assisted by Jackson. With a clear path, he smoothly slotted the ball into the far corner—an excellent effort. However, the linesman's decision meant the goal didn’t stand.

Palmer delivered an impressive ball from deep in his half, successfully finding Neto sprinting down the left wing. This created a promising two-on-two situation. Neto made a well-timed, precise pass to Jackson in the centre of the box, who finished with both power and accuracy. This effective counterattack led to Chelsea's goal in the 19th minute.

With this goal, Nicolas Jackson equalled Fernando Torres' record of 20 Premier League goals for Chelsea, becoming the 30th player to achieve this milestone for the club.

In the 34th minute, the Magpies equalized with a well-executed play on the right side of Chelsea’s box. Hall delivered a precise low cross that drew out the goalkeeper and two defenders, creating the perfect opportunity. Isak capitalized on the moment by scoring from close range.
